Abbas refutes JS allegation of grabbing land

Former minister and BNP Joint Secretary-general Mirza Abbas refuted the allegation by a parliamentary standing committee that he had grabbed railway lands in the capital by abusing power, reports UNB.
He said that they had been living legally at their homestead land measuring three bighas as the legal heirs for long.
Mr Abbas made the remarks at a press conference at his residence in the city Tuesday.
His 90-year-old mother Kamla Khatun, uncle Abdul Mannan and aunt Mukterunnessa were among the family members present at the press conference.
Mr Abbas alleged that at the instigation of a certain individual, a newcomer in his constituency, the parliamentary standing committee on Communications Ministry made the accusation against him and his family members.
