Abducted boy killed in Rangpur

RANGPUR Nov 15: A 10-year-old boy was allegedly killed after abduction at Dhap Khalifatari area in Rangpur town as his father failed to pay ransom money to the kidnappers.
Police recovered the body dumped under the earth beside the boy's house on Monday noon.
The father of the slain son Abdul Karim Bhola said that his son Himel (10) went missing on Friday last at around 9pm. The family members of Himel searched for him in vain at all possible spots. On Saturday an unknown phone call demanded Tk 0.4 million from him. The unknown call threatened of dire consequences if the demanded money was not paid within the stipulated period. But as Himel's father was a petty trader, he could not manage ransom money.
Bhola, father of the victim alleged that a couple introducing themselves as husband and wife rented a portion of his house two months ago. He said the couple might have killed his son and hid the body under the earth as they fled the house early in the morning.
A case was filed in this connection.
