Abducted boy rescued from Sherpur

A nine-month-old boy, who was kidnapped from Banani area in Dhaka city nine days ago, has been rescued in Jhinaigati upazila in Sherpur district. Police said Khokon Mia, 30, who worked as a mason in the city, abducted the nine-month-old son of his neighbour Idris Gazi from his home nine days ago. Idris Gazi filed a general diary with Banani Police Station after the incident. Meanwhile, when Khokon was staying in his relative’s house at Gazaripra village in Jhinaigati of Sherpur with the baby boy local people informed police out of suspicion. Police rescued the boy and arrested Khokon last evening. Jhinaigati thana officer-in-charge Golam Morshed Talukder confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
