Abducted UP member found dead in Comilla

A Union Parishad (UP) member who was abducted from his house on Saturday was found dead near Laxmipur bridge in Chouddagram Upazila in Comilla district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Nurul Alam, 40, son of Shamsul Alam of Dekra village. Family sources said coming in a microbus some masked miscreants picked up Nurul Alma from the house early Saturday morning. Chouddagram thana officer-in-charge Uttam Kumer Chakravarty said after getting complaints they conducted drives in different places in search of Alam and found his body lying under the bridge on Sunday morning. The body bore injury marks on its head, legs and hands, he said. The body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, according to UNB.
