Abdul Halim appointed BHBFC Chairman

Former cabinet secretary ASM Abdul Halim has been appointed as a director and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC).
The Financial institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance, through a notification issued on Sunday, appointed him for the next three years, says a press release.


After his appointment, he assumed his duties on Monday. Previously, he served as one of the directors of BHBFC during 1999-2000.
Abdul Halim hails from Islampur of Jamalpur district.
A former EPCS officer who obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Faculty of Commerce of Dhaka University and a higher degree in Development Studies from the University of Birmingham, England, he served as an efficient administrator at the field level as Sub-Divisional and Deputy Commissioner and Divisional Commissioner.
After serving as the Secretary of the ministries of Jute and Textiles, Agriculture and Establishment, he lastly served as the Cabinet Secretary. Moreover, he served in the former Anti-Corruption Bureau and as a director and chairman of various organisations and corporations.
