Abul Hashem new MD of Uttara Bank

Md. Abul Hashem has been appointed as Managing Director & CEO of Uttara Bank PLC.
Before this appointment, he was the Deputy Managing Director, Head of Treasury and the Chief Anti Money-laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO) of the bank, says a press statememt.
Abul Hashem started off his banking career at Uttara Bank as a probationary officer in 1997. In his 28-year banking career, he worked in different positions at various departments and divisions of the bank, including Credit Division, Accounts Department, Reconciliation Department, Recovery Department, Development & Support Department, Card Department, Credit Business Development Department, Asset & Liability Management Department at the Head Office.
He was awarded the Integrity Reward for the fiscal year 2020-21 in recognition of his contribution to the practice of integrity in the bank.
Mr. Hashem completed his M.S.S degree in political science from the University of Dhaka. He also obtained Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).
He hails from Badarpur in Hizla, Barishal.
