Abul Kalam Azad takes over as CEO of Takaful Islami Insurance

Abul Kalam Azad has taken over as Chief Executive Officer of Takaful Islami Insurance Limited with effect from November 26 as per approval of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, says the company in a statement.
He obtained his M.Com (Management) degree in 1982 from Dhaka University and completed Insurance Diploma in 2004 from the Insurance Academy. He joined Takaful Islami Insurance Limited on August 1, 2001 as Deputy General Manager & Company Secretary and subsequently was promoted to Additional Managing Director. He also served as Chief Executive Officer (Current Charge) in the company on five occasions.
Before joining Takaful Islami Insurance Limited, he served in Islami Insurance Bangladesh Limited in the positions of Assistant General Manager & Company Secretary for two years. He is Guest Speaker of Islami Bank Training and Research Academy and Panel Lecturer of Bangladesh Insurance Academy on Takaful Issues. He is also Guest Lecturer of Bangladesh Islami University and Faculty Member of Eastern University.
He is a specialist in Islmai Insurance (Takaful), both life and non-life. He is also Assistant Secretary General of Central Shariah Council of Islami Insurance of Bangladesh, Life Member of Feni Club Ltd. and Feni Samity Dhaka, Joint Secretary, Feni Forum, Dhaka, President, Fulgazi Forum, Dhaka, and Member, Ihsan Foundation Dhaka.
