ACC approves charge sheets against 9 persons

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) Sunday approved a charge sheet against nine persons including two officials of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) for allegedly making about Tk 30 million loss of public money.
The approval was given in a meeting of the ACC, the anti-graft body Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the FE.
The were RMCH former director Brig Gen (retd) Md Abdul Latif, former acting director Dr SM Abul Kalam Azad, officials of different medicine companies Md Matiur Rahman, Md Anisur Rahman, MA Mannan, Md Rabiul Hossain, Md Sahidul Alam, Sheikh Mohammad Ali and Md Rafiqul Islam.
ACC sources said, the persons were allegedly influenced in the tender process, which was invited for procuring medicine for the hospital. The procurement order was given to an unknown company denying many renowned companies with low price proposal.
ACC found that their activities made Tk 30 million loss to the RMCH.
