ACC files case against Mannan Khan\\\'s wife

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed on Tuesday a case against Syeda Hasina Sultana, wife of former state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan, for allegedly amassing illegal wealth.
ACC deputy director Nasir Uddin filed the case with Ramna Model Police Station in the capital, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the FE.
The case was filed under the Anti Corruption Commission Act 2004.
According to the first information report (FIR), Syeda Hasina Sultana accumulated wealth worth about Tk 35 million illegally.
Earlier, she submitted her wealth statement to the Commission and after examining it, the ACC found that she concealed wealth of Tk 18.6 million in her wealth report.
On August 21, 2014, the ACC also filed a case against Abdul Mannan Khan on charge of acquiring wealth worth Tk 7.9 million.
On September 8, the ACC investigation officer sought permission from its higher authorities for filing case against former state minister Abdul Mannan Khan's wife for her alleged possession of illegal wealth.
