ACC files cases against Syed Abul Hossain, Sarwar

Anti-corruption Commission Wednesday filed cases against former Awami League state minister of LGRD Syed Abul Hossain and Mayor of Barisal Mojibar Rahman Sarwar accusing them of concealing assets in wealth statement and amassing wealth beyond known sources of income, reports UNB.
ACC assistant director Majahar Ali Sarder filed the case with Ramna thana against Syed Abul Hossain and his wife Khwaja Nargis Hossain of Madaripur.
They were accused of amassing unearned wealth of more than Tk 35 million (3.5 crore), which was concealed in wealth statement submitted to ACC.
Another case was filed with Barisal kotwali thana by ACC deputy director Fazlul Haq against Mayor Mojibar Rahman Sarwar, his wife Syeda Nasima Sarwar and another woman Shamima Akter Chhobi whose identity was not revealed.
They were accused of amassing unearned wealth of Tk 99.2 million.
Now in jail Sarwar had earlier submitted his statement of wealth worth Tk 82.8 million.
