ACC finds no corruption in Padma bridge project

Wednesday, 3 September 2014

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has found no proof of ‘corruption or conspiracy’ in the Padma Bridge project and will drop the names of all suspects from the final report before submitting it. The ACC will submit the report of its investigations into the alleged corruptions in the project any day, its Chairman Md Badiuzzaman told a press briefing on Wednesday. He said, ‘The case has been documented for final report submission as the case had no merit and not enough information and witnesses were found during the investigation. We did not find enough information to move forward with the case even after probing for one-and-half-year. That’s why we are unable to submit the charge-sheet in court,’ he said. A copy of the final report will also be sent to the court, he said, according to bdnews24.com.
