ACC grills BNP

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) interrogated on Sunday BNP leader Taimur Alam Khandaker in connection with a graft allegation, reports UNB.
ACC assistant director Abdus Salam questioned himfor hours starting from 10:00 am at the ACC head office in the city, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the news agency.
On Thursday, the Commission sent a notice to Mr Khandaker, BNP Narayanganj unit president, to be present at the ACC head office on August 12, but he appeared before the ACC before the scheduled date.
According to the allegation received by the Commission, he gave allotment of some 11 shops of the Blind and Deaf Society misusing his power when he was the president of the association.
Although the people who got allotments of the shops did not pay installments as per condition, he renewed the allotments of shops without approval of the executive committee of the society.
