ACC initiates probe into graft of Mercantile Marine surveyor

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) launched an inquiry into the allegation of amassing illegal wealth by a surveyor of the Mercantile Marine Department, reports UNB.
The ACC at a recent meeting decided to launch a probe into the alleged corruption of surveyor Nazmul Haque of Mercantile Marine Department, Dhaka.
The sources said that according to the graft allegation received by the ACC, surveyor Nazmul Haque accumulated a substantial amount of money illegally by providing registration and survey fitness certificates to unfit water vessels by taking bribes.
ACC deputy director Muhammad Ibrahim has been appointed to carry out the probe into the graft allegation.
