ACC interrogates judge Motahar\\\'s gunman, driver

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) Monday interrogated the gunman and the driver of retired special judge Motahar Hossain, who had acquitted the BNP's senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman of charges in a money laundering case.
ACC deputy director Harun-ur-Rashid interrogated gunman Badal Dewan and driver M Shohrab Hossain at its headquarters in the city, officials told reporters.
The commission also served notice to two bench clerks and summoned a lawyer for interrogating them in this connection.
Two bench clerks, of the speedy trial tribunal-4 Abul Kalam Azad and special judge's court-3 Ariful Islam had been asked to appear before the commission on January 29 and lawyer Pabitra Sarkar, also assistant general manager of Bashundhara Group on January 28 to give statements related to the inquiry.
Earlier, the ACC had taken statements from speedy trial tribunal-4 stenographers M Abu Hasan and special judge's court-3 stenographer M Nurul Islam.
The ACC earlier this month, received a graft allegation against the former judge. After examining the allegation, the commission decided to launch an inquiry into the allegation.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh asked the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to interrogate Moudud Ahmed at the jail gate within three working days in a case filed by the graft watchdog for purportedly grabbing a government house in the city's Gulshan area.
