The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to file a case against two officials of the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) for allegedly misappropriating nearly Tk1.5 million from a health project.
The Commission at its regular meeting on Monday approved a proposal for filing a case against the DGHS officials, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The case will be filed against Prof M Amirul Hasan, line director of Non-Communicable Disease Control Unit, and its account officer M Abdul Hamid.
According to the ACC probe, all the accused in collusion with each other swindled out the amount from the Non-Communicable Disease Control Project implemented under the Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Development Programme of the Health Ministry, showing fake documents.
Under the programme, they were scheduled to hold workshops and trainings in Thakurgaon and Lalmonirhat districts. Instead of doing that, they misappropriated around Tk1.5 million from the project through preparing fake ‘bill-vouchers’.
ACC Deputy Assistant Director AKM Bajlur Rashid conducted probe into the graft allegation.
