Wednesday, 1 October 2025

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Amami League (AL) lawmaker Abdus Sobhan Golap and his wife Gulshan Ara, reports BSS.
The case was filed under section 26 (2) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004 as they had failed to submit their asset details on time.
Director General (DG) (Prevention) of the anti-graft body Md Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter in a press briefing held at the ACC Headquarters in the capital's Segunbagicha area on Tuesday.
ACC on April 15 served notices to Golap and his wife seeking information of their properties -- under section 26 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004 -- and gave 15 working days for submitting the asset details.
The anti-graft watchdog on July 1 issued an order to submit the property details. The submission period was extended till August 21 last upon time petitions.
