The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) Tuesday sued Awami League general secretary Abdul Jalil and former home minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, reports bdnews24.com quoting the police.
The graft watchdog filed another case against Khandaker Akhter Hamid nicknamed Paban, son of BNP leader Khandaker Delwar Hossain.
The three face corruption charges.
Sub-inspector Mehedi Hasan of Ramna Police Station said Jalil has been accused of suppressing details about Tk 6.38 million (63.8 lakh) in his wealth statement.
On a second count of charge, the AL leader now behind bars had earned Tk 6.52 million through unclear means, according to the case filed by ACC official Enamul Haque Chowdhury.
Jalil was arrested on May 28 from his Mercantile Bank office at Motijheel.
On the other hand, ACC deputy director Moniruzzaman Khan filed the case against Altaf, the former air force chief.
In a news briefing, ACC director general Colonel Hanif Iqbal had earlier said: "Altaf Hossain Chowdhury in his statement to the ACC suppressed information about Tk 59 lakh (5.9 million) in wealth."
The commission's investigation also reveals that Altaf owns about Tk 25.6 million in illegal wealth, according to the case, also filed with Ramna Police Station.
The commission had earlier filed a case against Altaf and his wife for their alleged corruption in the Bangladesh Air Force.
