ACC sues Madaripur Sadar sub-registrar for taking job with fake certificate

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed on Wednesday a case against Madaripur Sadar sub-registrar for taking the government job using fake academic certificate.
The official, Md Jahidul Islam, joined as sub-registrar in 2009 on freedom fighter quota as a former Mujibnagar official, according to the case statement.
Mr Islam is originally a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) holder but forged a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) certificate to enter the government job.
He received Tk 2.36 million as salary from the government in between September, 2009 to June, 2017 which was illegal as his employment was a part of forgery.
ACC deputy assistant director Ahmad Forhad Hossain filed the case with Shahbagh police station in this regard.
Besides, the ACC official filed another case with Gopalganj Sadar police station against Mr Islam as he forged a fake birth certificate changing his name to Mahbubur Rahman.
