ACC sues Nabinagar upazila female vice chairperson, husband

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed a case against Nabinagar Upazila female vice chairman Shiuly Rahman and her husband Habibur Rahman for their alleged involvement in amassing illegal wealth of Tk 10.4 million and concealing information about their asset.
According to an ACC investigation, Shiuly Rah-man illegally acquired assets of Tk 8.0 million and Habibur Rahman amassed wealth of Tk 2.4 million beyond known sources of income.
Habibur Rahman is a Store Officer at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogura, who is currently attached to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Govt Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka.
Rafi Md Nazmus Sadat, Assistant Director of ACC, Integrated District Office, Comilla, filed the lawsuit against them for allegedly committing a punishable offense under section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004 and section 109 of the Penal Code, 1860 for acquiring and possessing assets beyond known sources of income.
