ACC sues police inspector, wife, mother-in-law

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Syed Abdullah, inspector of the crime branch of the office of the superintendent of police (SP), Feni, and two others, for illegally amassing wealth of over Tk180 million.
Two other accused- Abdullah's wife Farhana Akter and mother-in-law Karima Khatun- in collusion with each other acquired the wealth unlawfully and dishonestly.
Syed Abdullah was also a former officer-in-charge of Mathbaria Police Station in Pirojpur.
Mustafiz, assistant director of ACC's Pirojpur district office, filed the case making the trio accused on Thursday.
The ACC in its primary investigation found they had accumulated movable assets worth around Tk30.8 million in various banks and financial institutions illegally.
Besides, the ACC's inquiry also unearthed two plots in the name of Syed Abdullah, two flats and one commercial space in the capital in his wife Farhana Akter's name and a flat in ownership of his mother-in-law Karima Khatun.
