ACC sues Srimongol municipality former chairman, CBA leader

SYLHET, Aug 12 (UNB): The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has filed separate cases against former chairman of Srimongol municipality Mohsin Miah Madhu and Jalalabad Gas CBA leader Mashukuddin for amassing illegal wealth.

ACC deputy director of Sylhet district coordination office M Nasiruddin filed the cases with Kotwali thana Monday.

The plaintiff, in a case filed against Srimongol municipality former chairman and BNP leader Mohsin Miah Madhu, accused Madhu and his wife Hosne Ara of acquiring wealth worth Tk 32,254,886 beyond the known sources of income and hiding information of assets worth Tk 19,424,032 in wealth statement submitted to the ACC.

Another case was filed against CBA leader Mashukuddin and his wife Hasna Begum for acquiring wealth of Tk 5,415,593 and concealing information about wealth of Tk 2,005,855 in the wealth statement, which was revealed in ACC investigation.
