ACC to grill Secretary Showkat again

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate former Housing and Public Works secretary Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain again on May 20 for allegedly taking government plots abusing power.
The ACC will also question former joint secretary Nazmul Hye, joint secretary of Water Resources Ministry Khijir Ahmed, Rajuk assistant director Hafizur Rahman and its office assistant Shahidul Islam in connection with the graft allegation.
The anti-graft body on Monday sent notices, signed by its investigation officer and deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy, to them asking them to be present at the ACC head office within the stipulated date, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
The ACC had also interrogated Dr Showkat Hossain on March 5 this year in connection with irregularities in Rajuk plot distribution, according to UNB.
