ACC to probe allegation on house grabbing

Monday, 11 August 2014

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will investigate the allegation of grabbing a government house by a retired deputy secretary in Chittagong. The allegation against Abu M Nurul Islam is that he has been occupying the house for nine years since he retired as a civil affairs officer of Chittagong Cantonment, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. Instead of vacating the house Islam filed a case with court claiming the ownership of the house. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police investigated the case. The CID submitted its report to the court on June 26 this year. It also sent a copy of the report to the ACC.
