ACC to probe corruption of ministers, MP

FE REPORT | Friday, 6 September 2024

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated a probe into corruption allegations involving Nuruzzaman Ahmed, former social welfare minister, Md Mahbub Ali, former state minister for civil aviation and tourism, and lawmaker Md Akhteruzzaman Babu.
ACC Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer Akhtarul Islam confirmed the decision on Thursday, citing initial intelligence findings.
These reports suggest possible abuse of authority, illicit wealth accumulation, money laundering, and irregularities in the government's procurement processes, prompting the ACC to move forward with a formal investigation.
