ACC to probe graft of former MPs Durjoy, Enamul

FE REPORT | Wednesday, 4 September 2024

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an inquiry into various allegations of corruption and money laundering against two former Members of Parliament (MPs).
The MPs are Naimur Rahman Durjoy, a former MP from the Manikganj-1 constituency and a cricketer, and Enamul Haque, a former MP from the Rajshahi-4 constituency. This decision was made at the ACC headquarters on Tuesday.
Both former MPs are accused of money laundering, irregularities in project implementations, and amassing significant illegal wealth both domestically and abroad.
Information from the ACC's intelligence unit has been taken into account in this matter.
On Monday, a Dhaka court issued a travel ban on 18 former ministers and eight MPs of the Awami League government.
