ACC to send notice to Mannan Khan today

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to interrogate former state minister for housing and public works Abdul Mannan Khan on allegedly amassing of illegal wealth.
The Commission is supposed to send a notice to the former state minister today (Sunday) to face the grilling, sources said adding that the decision was taken at a regular meeting of the ACC.
On January 22, the ACC assigned its deputy director M Nasir Uddin to investigate into the allegations of illegally acquired wealth and properties by Mr Khan.
The ACC sent the same notices to former health minister AFM Ruhal Haque and former state minister for water resources Mahbubur Rahman for interrogation recently.
According to the notices, the former health minister was asked to be present before the ACC headquarters on February 24 and former state minister for water resources on February 23.
Earlier, the ACC started investigation into the alleged illegal wealth of the seven ministers and members of parliament (MPs). They were the former health minister, state minister for housing and public works, and state minister for water resources,  lawmaker of Cox's Bazar-4 Abdur Rahman Bodi, MP of Rajshahi-4 Engineer Enamul Haq, Aslamul Haque of Dhaka-14 and Abdul Zabbar of Satkhira.
Media reports on huge discrepancies between wealth statements of the ministers and MPs that they submitted to the Election Commission (EC) ahead of the 10th parliamentary elections and the statements they had provided prior to the 9th national polls in 2008 created furore among the people.
Besides, the ACC will interrogate Abdur Rahman Bodi today (Sunday) on the alleged accumulation of wealth illegally. On February 4, the Commission sent a notice to him to appear before the anti-graft body head office. He was also asked to submit his wealth statement to the Commission, sources added.
