The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to file case against Awami League (AL) presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury's son Shahdab Akbar Chowdhury Labu and his wife for concealing information and acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income, reports UNB.
The Commission Thursday approved the filing of the case, ACC sources said.
ACC Assistant Director Khairul Huda will file the case Sunday against Labu and his wife Shahnaz Khan for concealing information of wealth worth about Tk 9.03 million and acquiring about Tk 12.4 million beyond their known sources of income.
The case will be filed in Dhaka under sections 26(2) and 27(1) of the Anti-corruption Commission Act, 2004, section 109 of the Penal Code and section 15(D)(5) of the Emergency Powers Rules, 2007.
The ACC also approved the submission of charge sheet in the case filed with Paltan police station against BNP leader and former BRTC chairman Taimur Alam Khandaker on charges of taking bribe of Tk 0.5 million.
Meanwhile, the Commission Thursday dispatched a notice to be served on Kazi Faruq Ahmed, chairman of NGO Proshika, directing to submit his wealth statement within seven working days.
The Commission Wednesday in its meeting approved the issuance of the notice.
Kazi Faruk was on the fourth and final list of 35 suspected corrupts published by the anti-graft watchdog on October 4, 2007.
