ACC zeroes in on Home Ministry official\\\'s graft

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) asked an SAS Superintendent of the chief accountant's office (Home Ministry) on Tuesday to submit his wealth report, reports UNB.
ACC deputy director Syed Iqbal Hossain served a notice to the suspended SAS Super Anwarul Hossain Sarkar asking him to submit his and his dependents' wealth reports before the commission within seven days, ACC sources said.
On December 13, 2010, the ACC filed a case against nine people, including Anwarul Hossain Sarkar, on charges of embezzling nearly Tk 12.0 million from Razarbagh Police Telecom Office.
According to the case statement, all the accused colluded to withdraw the amount from the Razarbagh Police Telecom Office showing fake procurement documents, and misappropriated the money.
Later, the Commission approved chargesheet against eight of the 9 individuals. ACC deputy assistant director AKM Bazlur Rashed investigated the graft allegation.
