Accepting female bikers

Monday, 19 September 2022

Motorcycles and scooters have become a popular option for many women in Bangladesh. For a working woman, having a bike means a lot. It does not involve getting into a public bus where women get harassed more often than not. It is also safer and more cost-effective than taking an Uber or a CNG-run auto-rickshaw. However, female bikers are often stared at on most of our roads. They are even looked down upon as inconsistent, erratic and slow drivers by their male counterparts. This mindset makes them susceptible to threats and bullying from male drivers.
Despite the problems that come with being a female motorcycle rider, the number of female bikers is increasing day by day in our country. With this change, male drivers should change their mindset and accept female drivers wholeheartedly.
