Accidents kill 3, injure 38

MUNSHIGANJ, Dec 6 (UNB): Three people were killed and 38 others injured in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Maowa highway in Louhajang Upazila Saturday.
In one accident, three people were killed and eight others injured when a bus smashed a CNG-run three wheeler at Medini Mondol.
Police said the Dhaka-bound bus from Khulna rammed the over-loaded autorickshaw, killing its three passengers on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Abu Taleb (40), and his two sons Imran (10), and Aminul (12).
Taleb's wife Taslima (35), sister Fahida (32), and their five children Al Amin (14), Jharna (3), Karima (2), Amir Hossain (10), and eight-month old Mohsin, and the taxi driver were admitted to the hospitals in critical condition.
Abu Taleb and his family members were going to Madaripur from Narayanganj to celebrate the Eid-ul-Azha when the tragedy struck them.
In another mishap, 30 people were injured when a bus ploughed through five other vehicles at the same place in the morning.
Meanwhile, three people were killed and 20 others injured when a bus crashed into a three-wheeler tempo at Kewrabunia in Amtali Upazila Barguna Saturday.
Police said the Dhaka-bound bus from Khepupara hit the tempo coming from opposite direction at about 7:30 am, killing three of its passengers on the spot and injuring 20 bus passengers.
