Accused snatched from police, two cops hurt

MYMENSINGH, Dec 10 (UNB): In a daring attack on a police vehicle, miscreants snatched an accused at Chanpur village in Muktagachha Upazila Wednesday, leaving two assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) of Muktagachha thana injured.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of the thana Kamal Hossain said a team of police conducted a drive at the village and arrested Abdullah, an accused in 47 cases, including of murder, in the afternoon.
While escorting him to the police station, a group of miscreants, equipped with sticks and weapons, swooped on the police vehicle and snatched the accused from their custody after stabbing the two policemen critically injured.
