ACI approves 105pc cash dividend

The shareowners of Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Limited approved the recommendation of 105 per cent cash dividend at the 37th annual general meeting (AGM) of the company held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at Agargaon in the city Wednesday.
ACI Chairman M Anis Ud Dowla presided over the meeting held for the year 2009. A large number of shareholders attended the meeting.
The business of the pharmaceutical registered an impressive sales growth of 24 per cent and crossed a milestone of selling over Tk 3.0 billion in a single year despite immense competition and many operational hurdles.
Company's healthcare business is consistently showing superior performance over the last couple of years and has recorded a CAGR of 25 per cent in sales. New technologies, aggressive and innovative initiatives are the key enablers for this growth and performance.
A number of new products in different therapeutic classes were launched in the year.
In 2009, ACI Consumer brands have been able to retain sales growth in mosquito coil, Aerosol and its other products. Consumer brands has increased its market share in household cleaning and lavatory care and registered a good sales growth.
It was noted that ACI Pure Salt continued to delight the consumers of Bangladesh with pure, dirt-free and properly iodised salt and thereby making a contribution towards the development of meritorious Bangladesh.
The foods business of ACI with brand name 'Pure' and 'Fun' has strengthened its brand preference amongst consumers through consistent quality improvement and attractive communication in the year.
ACI Agribusiness has reached the distinction of becoming the number one agricultural integrator in Bangladesh. The aim of ACI Livestock And Fisheries is to reduce the gap between demand and supply of protein.
