Acid hurled at woman in Magura

A woman received severe burn injuries as miscreants threw acid on her on the District and Sessions Judge’s Court compound in Magura district town on Monday night. The victim identified as Selina Khatun, 35, wife of Amirul Islam, a resident of Nijnanduali Madhyapara of the town, is a peon of District and Sessions Judge Mahfuza Begum. Superintendent of police AKM Ahsan Ullah said some criminals threw acid on Selina while she was returning home from the judge’s house on the court compound at about 9:00pm. Later, she was rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital. Following a written complaint lodged by the victim, police arrested three people-- Selim, son of Babu Miah, Javed, son of Rab Miah, and Champa --on Monday night, according to a news agency.
