Action against illegal bidi factories demanded

Bogura District Bidi Owners and Workers Union has formed a human chain to realise their five-point demand, including a ban on counterfeit bidis and brand rolls, says a press release.
The union members joined the human chain programme in front of the district's Customs, Excise, and VAT office in Bogura on Tuesday.
They demanded that the customs authorities take action against illegal bidi factories which are evading duty and that workers be allowed to work six days a week.
Bangladesh Bidi Workers Federation President MK Bangali, General Secretary Abdur Rahman, Joint Secretary Harik Hossain, among others, took part in the programme.
