Ad firms owe Tk 13.9 million to CCC

CHITTAGONG, Aug 15: Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has set a deadline asking 75 advertisement firms (AF) to pay all outstanding dues amounting to Taka 13.9 million lying with them for long, within one week next, CCC sources said.
Different AFs are conducting business through installing signboards and billboards in the city area. But they are not paying rent to the CCC regularly.
CCC Acting Mayor Monzur Alam in a directive asked those AF's to clear all the outstanding dues within the above deadline.
CCC sources said, as different organisations did not pay rent for installing signboards and billboards for long, the amount of outstanding dues stood at around Taka 35.5 million.
However, the CCC, through undertaking different initiatives, has so far been able to realise outstanding revenue upto Taka 21.6 million. Still an amount of Taka 13.9 million has been lying outstanding with different AFs against installation of billboards and signboards in different parts of the city.
