ADB official due in city

Director General (DG) of the South Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Sultan Hafeez Rahman arrives in the city today (Saturday) on a five-day official visit.
During his visit, Mr Rahman will take part in ADB's Country Programming Mission for Bangladesh focusing on the forward looking assistance covering 2011-2013 and hold discussions with senior government officials, ADB office said.
The discussions will focus on ADB's priority sectors, including power and energy, transport, education and the financial sector.
The DG will also exchange views with the private sector representatives, development partners and other stakeholders on a range of development issues.
ADB's assistance envelope for Bangladesh comprises around US$1.10 billion per year during 2011-2013.
