ADB president to visit Pakistan from Monday

President Asian Development Bank (ADB) Takehiko Nakao is arriving to Pakistan for 3-day visit from Monday to discuss projects of national importance and ADB’s assistance in solving the critical economic issues. During the visit, ADB head would discuss overall macro-economic situation of the country with the government’s economic team. He will hold a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and will also call on President and Prime Minister to exchange views on providing assistance to resolve the critical economical matters. ADB Country Director Werner Liepach called on Dar on Saturday to discuss the details of the upcoming visit of ADB president. Leipach in the meeting extended condolences on behalf of ADB President on the loss of life and colossal damage caused by the recent floods in Pakistan. He said, ‘We have deep felt sympathies for the people of Pakistan and, in order to make our relationship more meaningful, we would like to help the people of Pakistan because we have the experience and expertise in dealing with natural calamities like the typhoon Ulanda in Philippines and can gladly share our experience with Pakistan in the reconstruction work’, according to dailytimes.com
