Addl Tk 4.32b revenue realised against false declarations

The customs authorities realised an additional Tk 4.32billion as revenue during the July-February period of the current fiscal year against various false declarations both in terms of weight and nature of imported goods.
The Chittagong Customs House along with other customs stations realised a total of Tk 21.48 billion through detecting false declarations in the first eight months of the current fiscal compared to Tk 17.18 billion in the corresponding period of last fiscal, said a press release.
Of the additional revenue, the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation recovered Tk 329.40 million against 260 false declarations, especially on account of imports of iron and metal products.
