Admission guidelines for Notre Dame College stayed

The High Court (HC) on Wednesday removed the restriction in getting admission to the city’s Notre Dame College, staying the operation of the government-set guidelines that allow admission to HSC sans test. Responding to a petition filed by Notre Dame College principal Father Hemanta Rozario, an HC Division bench comprising Justice M Moazzem Hossain and Justice M Badruzzman, passed the order. Passing the interim order, the HC also issued a rule asking the government to explain why its impugned May 18 admission guidelines should not be declared void and illegal. The Education Secretary, the chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board and its inspector have been made respondents to the rule, according to a news agency.
