Friday, 3 August 2007

Industries Adviser Geeteara Safiya Chowdhury Thursday called upon the foreign entrepreneurs to come forward for investment in the country taking advantage of the liberal and investment-friendly policies of the government, reports UNB.
An environment, conducive to investment, has been created in the country due to the government steps, which aim at eradicating corruption and establishing good governance, she said.
The Adviser said, the government is offering generous tax holiday facilities, and the foreign investors can purchase land here easily.
She expressed these opinions while inaugurating the Jumbo Line of Fu-Wang Ceramic Industry Ltd at Hotapara in Gazipur. Fu Wang installed the Jumbo Line for producing various floor and wall tiles.
Board of Investment Executive Chairman Mohamad Nazrul Islam was the special guest of the programme, and Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur Syed Mizanur Rahman was the guest of honour. Fu Wang Group Chairman Hsu Chin Hua chaired the function.
Earlier, the Industries Adviser unveiled the plaque of the newly set up factory, and went round its different sections.
She cited Fu-Wang Group as one of the examples of success of the foreign investors operating in the country.
Established a decade back, Fu-Wang Group of Taiwan is presently operating eight industrial units in the country, creating employment of 3,000 people and contributing significantly to the country's economic development.
