Afghan Govt continue efforts for release of BRAC employee

NEW DELHI, Dec. 7 (UNB): Afghanistan Foreign Minister Rangin Spanta informed Foreign Advisor Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury they were continuing efforts to seek the release of abducted BRAC employee Nurul Islam.
During a meeting on the sidelines of the SAARC Ministerial Council, Spanta said a Task Force Committee composed of concerned ministries and security officials meets regularly in the Foreign Ministry in Kabul to examine developments.
He said currently Islam is being kept in an unidentified place in Kharwan district of Logon province, and "the security authorities have detained the brother and several other close relatives of the mastermind."
