Afghanistan 15/1 off 3-over

Sunday, 16 March 2014

Afghanistan were 15 for one wicket off three overs against Bangladesh in their World Twenty20, Group A cricket tournament opener at Sher-e-Bangla national stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon. Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim elected to bowl against newcomers Afghanistan, a surprising decision considering he had earlier said how difficult it is for his team to chase in T20s. The hosts opted for Al-Amin Hossain ahead of Rubel Hossain, while Mashrafe bin Mortaza was declared fit to play. Sabbir Rahman was predictably picked ahead of Mominul Haque. Mushfiqur, who did not keep wicket in the Asia Cup due to a finger injury, took the gloves back here. For Afghanistan, Najibullah Zadran made way for Najeeb Taraki, who made his T20I (international) debut, according to cricinfo. The match, which started at 3:30pm, is being held at Sher-e-Bangla national stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka.
