Afghanistan beat Hong Kong by 7 wickets to keep their World T20 main round hopes alive at Chittagong Tuesday. Afghans were restricted by some quality bowling from Hong Kong in the early going, before Mohammad Shahzad and Shafiqullah hit twin half-centuries to steer the chase. Shahzad was particularly impressive, hitting six boundaries and three sixes on his way to 68 off 53 balls. Earlier, Hong Kong posted a challenging total of 152 against Afghanistan in the fifth match of the World T20. Hong Kong were powered by a couple of 30s from Barkat, Atkinson and Chapman before a late blitz by Tanwir Afzal helped them cross the 150-mark. Hong Kong won the toss and elected to bat. The other two teams of the four-member group – Bangladesh and Nepal – will face it off with the match starting at 7:30pm on the same venue, according to a news agency.
