Afzal Karim new chairman of Padma Bank

CEO and Managing Director of Sonali Bank PLC Md Afzal Karim has been appointed chairman of Padma Bank PLC, according to a circular issued by Bangladesh Bank.
Prior to joining Sonali Bank, Mr Afzal was the managing director of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation and deputy managing director (DMD) of Sonali Bank, says a statement.
Previously, he served Bangladesh Krishi Bank as DMD and General Manager.
In recognition of his honesty and efficiency at work, Mr Afzal was honoured with 'Integrity Award' by the government for financial year 2021-22.
