Aga Khan Award for Architecture

The Aga Khan Award for Architecture organised a seminar in Dhaka Monday to present the 2007 winning projects to the professional community and architectural students in Bangladesh, says a press release.
Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Education Adviser was the chief guest at the seminar. The participants included architects and academics from Bangladesh, and overseas guests.
Films on the 2007 Aga Khan Award winning projects were screened at the seminar and the projects were discussed by distinguished panelists including Mr Farrokh Derakhshani, Director, Aga Khan Award for Architecture, Professor ASM Ahmed, Professor Shabbir Ahmed, Professor Zainab Faruqui Ali, Mr Bashirul Haq, Professor Perween Hasan, Ms. Anna Heringer, Nahas Khalil, Mr Romi Khosla, Dr Jimmy CS Lim, Professor Fuad H. Mallick, Ms. Lailun Nahar Ekram, Professor Shaheda Rahman, Professor Haroon ur Rashid, Mr Eike Roswag, Professor Modjtaba Sadria and Professor Shamsul Wares. Mr Mubasshar Hussain, President, Institute of Architects Bangladesh and Mr Habib Hirji, President, Aga Khan Council, Bangladesh made the concluding remarks. Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor, BRAC University, was the special guest at the seminar.
The Aga Khan Award for Architecture will also hold a ceremony in Rudrapur village in Dinajpur to celebrate the School in Rudrapur, winner of the 2007 Aga Khan Award. The ceremony will focus on the contributions made to the success of the project by the community of Rudrapur and the NGO Dipshikha.
