Aga Khan School emerge champs

Aga Khan International School emerged champions in the Dhaka Metropolitan Women's School Football Tournament as they came from behind to beat Scholastica School by 3-2 goals in a keenly contested final at the Dhanmondi Women's Sports Complex in the city Saturday, UNB reports.
BFF president and legendary footballer Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin watched the day's final as the chief guest while General Manager of Pacific Telecom Ltd Sania Mahmud was present as special guest.
Karishma drew the first blood scoring the first goal for Scholastica in the 11th minute (1-0) while Adiba of Aga Khan School restored the parity in the 21st minute (1-1).
Mosaba put Aga Khan ahead in the 23rd minute (2-1), but Zara leveled the margin for Scholastica (2-2) in the following minute (24th).
Eventually, Adiba netted the match-winner with her second goal in the 32nd minute amid huge cheers from her schoolmates (3-2).
Adiba of Aga Khan School was adjudged best player of the final, Zara of Scholastica School named the best player of the tournament while Papiya of Azimpur Girls' School the highest scorer of the tournament.
Earlier, in the semifinals Friday, Aga Khan International School eliminated Viqarunnissa Noon School by 2-1 goals, while Scholastica School beat BIT, also 2-1.
