Aga Khan to visit Bangladesh early next year

Prince Karim Aga Khan is likely to visit Bangladesh early next year, which will mark the Golden Jubilee of his Imamate. A delegation of Ismaili Community Sunday met Foreign Affairs Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and informed him of the Aga Khan's Bangladesh visit to take place in the first quarter of 2008. The delegation led by Habib Hirji, President of the Ismaili Council in Bangladesh, also said that during his visit, Aga Khan would lay the foundation of Aga Khan Academy. During the meeting, Hirji also discussed the Ismaili community's role in the post-cyclone relief operations and announced a donation of 50,000 pieces of blankets.
