Agargaon AL leader killing: 3 arrested in city

Rapid Action Battalions (RAB) personnel in an overnight raid arrested three persons including ‘Shooter Naim’ in connection with the killing of Jahangir Alam, 45, leader of Dhaka City Ward No 41, who was gunned down in front of his West Agargaon residence on August 9. Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of the legal and media wing of RAB, confirmed the arrests. ‘They have been arrested from different areas in the city,’ he said. He said one of the arrestees was identified as ‘Shooter Naim’ who shot Jahangir in his chest soon after he got down from his car and the others are yet to be identified,’ he claimed. Jahangir Alam, a president candidate of 41 ward unit of Awami League, was also the president of Agargaon Momota Bahumukhi Samabaya Samity. Details will be informed through a formal press briefing at 3pm on Tuesday, the RAB media wing director added, according to BSS.
