Aged woman slaughtered in city

An aged woman was murdered in her apartment in the capital's Mirpur Friday night, reports UNB.
Shah Ali Thana police recovered the bloodstained body of 75-year old Nurjahan Begum from her flat on the 2nd floor of a 6-storey building at 1/15 of Block-C in Mirpur section-1 at 10:30 pm.
Family members said Nurzahan Begum used to live alone in the apartment. She was the mother of three sons and two daughters.
As tenants did not get any response from her since Friday afternoon, they informed her daughters of the matter. Doors of her room were found locked from inside.
On information, Shah Ali thana police went to spot and broke open the door in presence of her relatives and local people and found Nurjahan lying inside the bathroom in a pool of blood. A blade was also found beside her body.
