\\\'Aggrieved\\\' JCD men postpone protest programme
Sunday, 19 October 2014
The 'aggrieved' Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists, deprived of posts in its new committee, on Sunday postponed their demonstration and sit-in programmes in front their Naya Paltan headquarters following a fruitful meeting with BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. After an hour-long meeting between Mirza Alamgir and five leaders of JCD 'dissident group', Rakibul Islam Royal said they have postponed their agitation programmes until Monday. He said they have made the decision as the BNP spokesperson assured them of taking the issue with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. Royal claimed Mirza Alamgir told them that he would talk to the BNP chief tonight (Sunday) about their demand for resignation of BNP student affairs secretary Shaheeduddin Chowdhury Anee and assistant secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku and forming a new committee dissolving Rajib Ahasan and Akramul Hasan-led one. The chairperson’s decision to this end will be informed by Monday, according to a news agency.
